Introduction:
Now it being summer for a month, I have finally settled into some sort of rhythm and routine. My work schedule and running schedule stay the same throughout the whole week which gives me a lot of flexibility and free time to get things done. With that, I took cool photos and spent a weekend hanging out with college teammates. To cap off the week, we were able to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad. Let’s dive in!
Why Throw Things Off?
I myself really enjoy having a set routine and this week I was really able to solidify what exactly I do each day. Every morning, I do a run at 7am with some high school and college teammates. This really sets me up for a productive day. I usually work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. This allows me to have Tuesday and Friday off which I dedicate as my “grind days.” On Tuesday I get most of my schoolwork along with my website and laundry done. On Friday, I do most of the exercise grind along with maintenance in the house such as cleaning the bathroom and mowing the lawn. Having this routine helps me stay very productive. However, it can make days pass by fast and you might get too caught up with the routine and miss some key things. So, I always try to incorporate something non-routine like in my week, and this week’s adventure was packed with fun.
Photos!
I recently started to try to get better at taking photos with my iPhone. I never realized how powerful the cameras really were on them. I took some cool pictures in the late evening and early at night with my iPhone. I am trying to take good photos of my surrounding environment but also of people as well. I do this by adjusting the exposure and by where I place the subjects when taking the photos.
Weekend Trip:
On Friday night to Sunday morning I was able to travel to Aiden’s house since he was doing a get together. 5 of us total were there and the majority of us had not seen each other since school made ended in early may. We did a whole lot of activities that included, pickle ball, swimming in the pools, hot tub, campfire, surfing on the boats, chilling on the boat, and of course running.
We started of the day on Saturday with doing our long run. It was quite hot outside even when we were running at 8:30am. We got around 12.5 miles in! Afterwards we headed to the lake and did surfing on the boat. I had only done it once before and did not really want to do it since last time I could not get up and did not what people to judge me. Since all of them had some experience they were significantly better than I was. However being in a group with them for some time now, I understand that most people do not care at all and will not judge or make fun of you. So I decided to try and was able to get up. . . for a whole 5 seconds before eating it. I tried a handful of more times but wasn’t able to get up but honestly progress is progress. Why watching others go I was able to take some a cool picture of Aiden surfing below. After surfing he went to a sand bar and docked the boat and threw the football around and talked to each other. After about 5 hours on the boat we headed back to his house.
Once we got back, we played some pickle ball and horsed around in the pool before settling down and eating some KFC. We then built a campfire and talked with each other and prank calling another teammate telling him that Jason and Aiden got into a fight with each other and as a result Jason did not want to go to CMU next year. He believed it for some time and the conversation went on for around 15 minutes. After this, it was late, and we headed inside and watched a funny TV show before
Father’s Day:
To finish off the week, we celebrated Father’s Day. Unfortunately, through each meal, Breakfast, Dinner, and pie, one of us kids were missing it also just happened that each kid missed one meal as well. I missed breakfast but during that time, HX, XX and mom cooked breakfast and gave dad his gift which was a new pair of walking shoes. We then chilled throughout the day and dad, and I cooked burgers for dinner before later at night we had pie, mostly for mom, with all of us other than Xuan Xuan. Overall, it was good spending time with the family and eating together.
Conclusion:
This week was filled with a combination of normal routine stuff but also some fun excursion that deviated me from my normal track. Going to Aiden’s house allowed me to have fun with some of my college teammates that I hadn’t seen in a while. Additionally, it also added some balance in my life as well. By adding these things to my week, like this week, I can learn, such as not caring about what people think of you as I learned this week, and a whole lot of other things that I otherwise would have not realized without the experience. Plus of course, it is always fun to do something different. Life is full of changes and adding these trivial things to my schedule will help me grow and get more out of it. Until next week!
