There is no shame in starting over again, as long as you keep moving forward.

Introduction:
Hi all! I apologize for not posting in a while. My motivation for a lot of things in my life has significantly decreased in the last couple of weeks and as a result, my habits, website, and daily activities have taken a toll: Most of them are not being completed. Fortunately for me, this is normal for most people and the most important part is starting them up again. I have always found it hard to pick something back up once I “have broken my streak” however the best way to do this is just by restarting. Which is something that I plan to do now. Here is a look at what has happened in the last couple of weeks. And it is quite a bit.
Reunion:
One of my friends, Jacob, who I had not seen in nearly 2 years had just returned from his mission trip and he reached out to us. Although we had not played, we were able to “revive” one of our group chats from 2 years ago and get a large group of us, around 12 of us, to play ultimate frisbees. For being gone for 2 years, Jacob was able to still school all of us in ultimate. It was a lot of fun being able to come together as a group and play. Unfortunately for us, Jacob was only going to be in town until July 3rd since his family had relocated to China for his dad’s job, so he was going to China for a month before heading to college at BYU. Luckily, we were able to plan 2 get togethers where we played ultimate, spike ball, and football, and one final hangout where Luke and I had ice-cream with Jacob and where we said goodbye and safe travels to him. Overall, I am grateful for the chance to see him again and bring everyone together. I look forward to hopefully seeing him during winter break.
Grad Party!
On the last week of June our whole family minus HX went to see a family friend’s, Yao Yao’s, graduation party. He is attending Michigan State University this fall. We had not seen each other in almost 2 years which was crazy! While there, we ate some tasty food. Additionally, Xuan Xuan and I were able to talk Zhen Zhen which is Yao Yao’s brother. Zhen Zhen is the same age as me and goes to Ohio State University. It was fun to catch up with her and learn about going to one of the biggest and electric universities in the US. After talking for a while we were able to take a picture with Yao Yao before heading home.
July 4th:
For independence weekend, our mengs cross country team decided to do a weekend trip to Ludington and stay at Jason’s cottage. We stayed at the cottage from July 4th till the 7th. During our stay there we were able to see them go to the beach and play around in the water, watch the fireworks, run of course, climb dunes, play SpikeBall and more. The trip was even more special since we were able to have our whole team there minus one person and Adam, a former CMU runner when I was a freshman who runs at Wichita state now, was able to make it. It was a wonderful experience to be able to see everyone and have some fun with each other. My favorite thing about the trip was the last day when we went to the dunes and were able to find a perfect place to play spikeball. We were in a sand bowl, and it made playing spikeball incredibly fun. We must have played at least 20 different games with everyone.
Joey’s House:
This past weekend Joey had some of the guys along with some of the girls on our cross team over for his place. Somehow, he was able to get Steven to come to his house even after all last week. I am kind of suprised the Steven was not sick of us after the July 4th weekend. Anyway, we could play a variety of games like last week, but Joey’s dad and his brother built a die table on Saturday, and we were able to play that game. It was fun to play but also hard. It was fun to be able to see everyone again and some fresh faces as well, but I think that is enough Aiden and Ethan bickering I have seen for this summer. Until August 16th! (Report back date)
Conclusion:
It has been a very eventful last couple of weeks with many activities filling my weekends. However, it is now time to start going back into the swing of things. The hardest thing about keeping the consistent habits that I have created for myself is not keeping myself accountable after I have started on a streak, but keeping myself accountable after having a setback that forces me to stop doing my habit and start over again. I hope to see you all next week!
