Introduction:
Hello Peeps! I hope you all had a wonderful week. I have had a god week getting back on track with things. The start of the week was nice since we had Monday and Tuesday off due to Wellness break! The following days were nice to return to the regular routine. The weekend came super-fast and was filled with catching up with people. Overall, it’s been a particularly good week. Let’s get into it.
Wellness break:
With the first 2 days of the week being off from school, it really allowed me to be flexible with what I wanted to do with my time. With the extra time it was nice being able to be a little lazy and procrastinate a little bit. During this break I was able to get a lot of the busy work like scanning in notes, cleaning the little spots in, finish things in my website, and just sit and watch TV. These are all things that I would normally have to chip away but it was nice to be able to get them all done at once. Additionally, I did not touch homework until Tuesday night so it was just nice to put school in the back of my mind. Overall it was pretty uneventful but a much needed break.
Running and getting back into the groove:
After almost taking last week fully off, I was able to get back to running on Monday of this week which was great. The runs this week were awesome. Taking the last week really helped my mindset with running funny enough. This whole week has been like “the runners high.” I was just truly grateful to be able to get out and run and it just allowed me to truly reflect on how far I really have come and what great opportunities that I have. This mindset really allowed has propelled me in the last couple of months and showed during the 2 workouts we did last week where I surprised myself since normally coming off sickness, I am a wreck. Overall, even though it may have slowed my progress a little, being sick and taking a break has had a lot of good results come out of it.
Friday:
The weekend arrived in the blink of an eye, and it was now for the packed weekend. To start the day of course we had morning practice, and it was a workout! It takes 40 minutes to tempo my bread and butter. It was nice and relaxing and a wonderful way to start the day. Afterwards I got to relax at home before Steve and I headed to the field hockey game. Hoping for a win today since the field hockey team has lost the last 4 games by 1 point. Unfortunately, it was quite a slow game, and we lost by 2 points but at least Steve and I had an enjoyable time. Well at least I did since I was clowning around with Steve. After we got home, Steve and I made some dragon stomp, which was surprisingly good since I eyeballed the chicken and mashed potatoes. After dinner, Jessie and I played tennis, and it was a close game. Although, I lied about the score which never happened. Anyways after we headed back and watched the Super Mario movie and some Toy story before going to bed.
Homecoming:
In addition to the wellness break this week, it was homecoming week as well. So, to begin it, Carson, Abby, Jessie, and I headed to the homecoming kickoff at Finch to check it out. It was surprisingly not too bad. We got our caricature drawn of us and Carson got violated since the person drew him with a length neck. After that we got some cotton candy and snow cones which were delicious. We sat around and talked for a little bit before heading back home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The big event this week was the homecoming game against Ohio for football. Since it was a later game, it was nice to be able to do some work and chill with the guys at their house before the game started. All of us guys arrived right when the game started and joined Carson, Nick, Abby, LuLu, Emma, and Jessie at the game. Honestly, it was an awful game to be in. We only stayed until halftime since Ohio had scored 24 points and we had scored no points at all. It was quite tough. Although the football game was quite unfortunate, I was able to catch up with some people, which was great! Isaac, Nick, and I then headed to the guy’s house, chilled, and watched other football games. At some point we turned the CMU football game on, and we were starting to come back. We scored the next couple of points and brought the score to 18 to 24. Unfortunately, we were not able to close out the game and the final score was Ohio 27 to CMU 25. After most of the guys were already at the apartment. We talked around and watched more football. I got tired and headed back home around 10:30 but overall, it was a good day!
Busyness:
The next week is going to be a tough one for sure. I have two exams, both of which are going to be very tough, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, I have multiple different meetings with many people like coaches, administrators, clubs, and counseling. So, managing my time is going to be tough, Luckily on Sunday I was able to get a good chunk of my studying done which should help limit stress levels. Overall, I am looking at tackling this week and doing great!
Conclusion:
This past week has provided me with a much-needed opportunity to regroup and refocus on my goals. After a small hiccup last week, I found myself genuinely excited to step back into my routine and appreciate the familiar moments that often go unnoticed. It’s amazing how taking the time to pause and reflect can reignite your motivation. I’ve been rediscovering the joy in the little things that make up my daily life. I can’t wait to share more insights and experiences with you all next week!
